Oddly, I'm not a fan of the plot, as it were, but I'm fascinated with it as an historical piece. I also read a decent chunk of it in the original Old English, which was "entertaining," to say the least.
Neil Gaiman adapted it for the screenplay, so I'm really looking forward to that -- he's one of my favorite writers.

Right! I didn't think I would like it either...there are many translations of it. The more I read the more I got into the story. I also tried a bit of the Old English myself...then quickly returned to the play I WAS reading which was the translation by Burton Raffel. It was easy for me to picture the storyline. I believe this was the version used to make the movie that has been released...which I have not seen yet. Still a good book for the bookshelf anyway.
Thanks!!
