  • Sunday Wife A genre read situated in Florida about a methodist preacher's wife. She has been married 20 years to the pastor, and was following a dull routine---might I say , "his" routine until she met a free spirit named Augusta .After that Willodean's life changed completely---she began to have different priorities, and it started with her music. She played the dulcimer more for pleasure and a little less for church socials. She met different people, other than staid Methodists. How this plays out makes for a great read. Any comments?

  • Pride and Prejudice I also loved the movie with Kiera Knightly. I have the PBS version that is 6 hours long that I really enjoy also. I have in the last few months purchased Persuasions but haven't taken the time to get it read yet. Jane Austen is a wonderful writer. As far as finding a similar book for you to compare to, that could be tough. Jane's books are so full of "drama" as my daughters would say. LOL! Although not exactly like Pride and Prejudice the book that comes to mind is maybe Little Women. Not the same story at all, but one of sisters who are close knit and their lives. Another one I found but have not read yet...but will go get this book soon, is the following:
    Frederica / by: Georgette Heyer
Calling this novel a "masterpiece of words and humor," Nora Roberts
writes the Introduction in homage to an author considered the creator of
the modern Regency genre. In this story, the prized bachelor status of
the Marquis of Alverstoke is threatened when he becomes entangled with
Miss Frederica and her extraordinary family.
